RUBIO: BEYONCE TRIP TO CUBA 'HYPOCRITICAL'

Rubio, a Cuban-American, says such trips provide money to the Castro government to oppress the Cuban people.
The Republican lawmaker from Florida calls their recent trip "hypocritical" and he takes issue with the U.S. government's approval of the visit as a cultural mission.
Beyonce and Jay-Z marked their wedding anniversary in Havana last week.

U.S. citizens aren't allowed to travel to Cuba for mere tourism, though they can obtain licenses for academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange trips. These people-to-people licenses were reinstated under the Obama administration.

JUSTIN BIEBER STRIKES BACK: 'I'M YOUNG AND I MAKE MISTAKES'

Justin Bieber admits he's far from perfect. "I'm young and I make mistakes. That's part of growing up," he says. "I mess up sometimes. It's part of growing up."

For now, the unattached heartthrob is tuning out his detractors. (He wraps up his nearly yearlong world tour in August.) "I know who I am and I'm not gonna let negativity towards me bring me down. I'm a positive person and I plan on staying that way," Bieber says. "This business can break you down, but I have a strong team around me, and my family and all the fans. The love
overcomes the negativity. I'm not perfect but I'm growing and trying to be better everyday. That's part of life."
Still, Bieber adds, "I'm young and I want to have fun. I don't think there is anything wrong with that."

New Kardashian divorce hearing

Reality show star Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are getting another chance to settle their divorce case and this time a judge wants the professional basketball player to attend.

Humphries did not appear for settlement talks on Friday, and a Superior Court judge set another hearing for April 19 in Los Angeles. The judge also set a hearing for whether Humphries should be fined for not appearing at the mandatory settlement hearing.
Humphries' lawyers said no settlement was reached and that a trial was still scheduled for May 6.
Humphries wants the marriage annulled based on his claims that it was fraudulent. Kardashian wants a traditional divorce, which would be her second.
She filed for divorce in October 2011 after 72 days of marriage.
Humphries has not yet laid out the specifics to support his fraud claim, but his former lawyer has said Humphries wants an annulment because of his belief that Kardashian only married him because of her reality show.
Kardashian and her lawyer have denied the accusation. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was flanked by police as she left the court.
"I always wanted to be a juror," she joked before taking her seat.
Kardashian is expecting a child with boyfriend Kanye West later this year. She was not accompanied by West or any members of her famous family.

Comedian Jonathan Winters dies

Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died aged 87.
Jonathan died at his home in Montecito, California, of natural causes, long-time friend Joe Petro said. He was surrounded by family and friends.
"He was just a great friend and I was very lucky to be able to work with him for all the years I did," said Mr Petro, an artist and printmaker who collaborated with Jonathan for decades on numerous art projects. "We've lost a giant and we're really going to miss him."
He was a pioneer of improvisational stand-up comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy. Facial contortions, sound effects, tall tales - all could be used in a matter of seconds to get a laugh.
"Beyond funny, He invented a new category of comedic genius," comedian Albert Brooks tweeted.
A devotee of Groucho Marx and Laurel and Hardy, Jonathan and his free-for-all brand of humour inspired Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Tracey Ullman and Lily Tomlin, among many others. But Robin Williams and Jim Carrey are his best-known followers.
It was Robin who helped introduce Jonathan to millions of new fans in 1981 as the son of Robin's goofball alien and his earthling wife in the final season of ABC's Mork and Mindy.
Winters' only Emmy was for best-supporting actor for playing Randy Quaid's father in the sitcom Davis Rules (1991). He was nominated again in 2003 as outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for an appearance on Life With Bonnie.

Jay-Z wants to be baseball agent

Jay-Z is applying to become an agent for Major League Baseball players.
The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) said the rapper's application to be certified was received on Thursday.
Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports announced last week they were partnering in the agency business, and New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano was the first client. CAA's Brodie Van Wagenen replaced Scott Boras as Cano's listed agent.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is in the process of selling his minority share of the Brooklyn Nets.
Had he kept his share with the NBA club he might have faced potential problems in becoming certified by the MLBPA.

Justin Bieber's message for Anne Frank

Pop star Justin Bieber continues making headlines - this time, at the house of Anne Frank.

Justin Bieber never seems to be far away from the headlines these days.
Following a calamitous tour in London and a bit of monkey business in Germany (he had to leave his pet monkey in quarantine at a German airport because he didn't have the necessary documentation), he is now hot news in Holland.
The 19-year-old visited the Anne Frank House and left a message in the guestbook saying he hoped she would have liked his music.
Staff from the museum wrote on their Facebook page: “Yesterday night Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards."
They adde: "In our guestbook he wrote: ‘Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber [the name given to his fans]'.”
It's perhaps fair to assume that the young lady, mature beyond her years, would have been bemused by Justin Bieber and his ilk.

Beyoncé to headline Made In America Festival

Beyoncé and Nine Inch Nails will headline Budweiser's second annual Made In America Festival, which is due to take place in Philadelphia on August 31 and September 1.
According to Billboard, the Jay-Z-curated event will also feature performances by Queens of the Stone Age, Deadmau5, Phoenix, Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar, Emire of the Sun, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wiz Khalifa, Miguel, Public Enemy, A$AP Rocky, Solange, Haim, Nero, 2 Chainz, Imagine Dragons, Gaslight Anthem, Emeli Sande and Aluna George, among others.
"The point of having that diversity in our music line-up we're trying to expose the people to different types of music," Paul Chibe, Budweiser's VP of marketing, told Billboard. "Much like last year, where if you never saw Pearl Jam but you're a Jay-Z fan, we want fans of Beyoncé or Calvin Harris or Wiz Khalifa to have the opportunity to see Nine Inch Nails or stuff they might have seen for awhile like Public Enemy. That eclectic mix creates an opportunity for us to really show the impact of music and culture."
Last year's event was filmed by director Ron Howard for a documentary that will be released this summer. The beer brand is also sponsoring Jay-Z's upcoming joint tour with Justin Timberlake.

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have matching tattoos

Lavigne has now revealed they sealed their love by having matching body art inked during a romantic trip to Paris, France.
She tells Etcanada.com, "I got 'Live in the Moment' in French: 'Vivre le moment present.' I said, 'I got a surprise for you, took him to get tattooed.' He probably was thinking I was going to take him to the Eiffel Tower or something."
Lavigne also reveals the couple's wedding has been booked and she has taken care of most of the details: "I want to go all out with this wedding. What's most important is getting the dress, getting the wardrobe, the rings, location booked. All that's taken care of."
However, Lavigne hasn't been able to decide which song to play for their first dance as husband and wife, so she is considering using a track the couple wrote together.
She adds, "I think we'll just play a song maybe that we wrote together. But I haven't thought that much about it yet."

David Beckham: Ronaldo is not on Messi's level!

Former England international and Real Madrid superstar David Beckham offered his thoughts on the debate. Cristiano Ronaldo “doesn't reach the level of Messi,” said Beckham in a recent interview with Argentinean News Agency Telam. "They can have similarities in their technical skills and talent and it is hallucinating for football to have them both present but Messi is simply the best player in the world.”
Messi, who injured his hamstring in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal in Paris, came on in the 62nd minute of the second leg with his team down by a goal. Beckham, now 37, came on as a sub in the 83rd minute.
"We were leading before Messi came in and once he came in Barcelona scored,” Beckham said about PSG's elimination by Barcelona.
Even at his age, Beckham insists he hasn’t lost his competitiveness and will to win. "Although I enjoy playing at this level at my age, I do not like to lose," Beckham toldTelam. "Our team played well. In both matches we did things we should be proud of. We didn't lose against Barcelona and that is something that should motivate us for the next season."
PSG have made a number of acquisitions in recent seasons, including the former Manchester United man. Rumors are that Ronaldo may be headed there after his contract with Madrid expires at the end of next season.

NIKKI REED CHOPS HAIR BY 12 INCHES

And another celebrity gets the chop! Nikki Reed debuted her stylish new lob (long bob) Wednesday night at the 3rd Annual Coach Evening to Benefit Children's Defense Fund at Bad Robot in Los Angeles.
The previously long-tressed "Twilight" actress spoke to Us Weekly about her decision to cut off "at least a foot," she estimates, of her hair. "I'm doing a new movie, and although the role doesn't require a short hair change, it's something totally different than anything else I've done and I wanted to look and feel like a different person," she tells Us.

The 24-year-old star normally entrusts her haircuts and color to her mom, a hairdresser, but for this makeover, she called in a neutral party, stylist Mara Roszak. "I called Mara and was like, I need to do something really drastic, but I don't want my mom to cut it because if something goes wrong, I don't want to hate my mom. She totally got it and I'm so happy."

Lady Gaga helping hand!!

Fan: Lady Gaga is paying for my hip surgery
Little monsters of the world, relax. You might not be going to a Lady Gaga concert while your hero recovers from hip surgery for the next five months, but that doesn't mean the Mother Monster won't be looking after you. After befriending a Twitter follower named Emma who suffers from scoliosis and hip dysplasia, Lady Gaga first
named her wheelchair after the fan, then apparently went one step further.
"Gaga herself reached out to me and is hooking me up with her team of doctors, plus others, that did her surgery in NYC as I have been needing a hip replacement for quite some time," Emma tweeted this week. "We're planning on flying out this weekend, all expenses paid, for a consult. She won't be there, but the gesture is absolutely incredible and I broke down sobbing immediately afterwards." Emma continued, expressing her gratitude to Lady G, her entourage and even her parents: "Words can't describe how incredibly BLESSED I am… I would like to send a MASSIVE thank you to Gaga, her entire team, as well as [Gaga's parents] Cynthia and Joe for doing an incredible job of raising the most beautiful person I know." Somebody give Gaga a gold star to match her 24-karat gold wheelchair, stat
